The Matrouh University Award for Institutional Excellence was launched at Matrouh University under the patronage of Professor Amr El-Masry, President of the University. This initiative supports Egypt's Vision 2030, which prioritizes quality and excellence. The award aims to enhance the quality of the educational and administrative process, spread a culture of excellence among the university's faculties, encourage competitiveness and innovation, and highlight successful models. The organizational structure for the award was approved, including Professor Amr Ahmed El-Masry as Executive Director, Professor Nancy Mahmoud El-Sakhi in the Evaluation Department, Dr. Amr Mahmoud Amin in the Operations and Logistics Support Department, Assistant Professor Ahmed Adel Ismail in the Communications and Public Relations Department, and Engineer Mazen Ali as Technical Support Officer. Ambassadors and evaluators representing each of the university's faculties will also be present. Dr. Ahmed Adel Ismail, Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Matrouh University, visited the Matrouh Youth and Sports Directorate as a representative of the university, where he was received by Dr. Walid Abdel Aziz Refaei, Director General of the Directorate. During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, as well as the development of training programs and workshops aimed at honing the skills of youth. At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Walid Refaei emphasized the importance of cooperation with Matrouh University, praising its role in supporting the governorate's youth and building their capacities to meet the demands of the labor market.

Matrouh University President Dr. Amr El-Masry signed a cooperation protocol with Al-Azhar University President Dr. Salama Dawoud on Friday. The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh; Dr. Islam Ragab, Deputy Governor of Matrouh; Major General Magdy El-Wasif, Secretary General of the Governorate; Engineer Hussein El-Senini, Assistant Secretary of the Governorate; Dr. Ramadan El-Sawy, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Lower Egypt; Dr. Sayed Bakry, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Education and Student Affairs; and Mohamed Abdel Khaleq, Secretary General of Al-Azhar University. Also present were the Matrouh Governorate Parliamentary Assembly, mayors, and sheikhs. <br> Dr. Amr El-Masry emphasized that the signing of the protocol reflects Matrouh University's commitment to building bridges of cooperation with prestigious educational institutions, primarily Al-Azhar University. This will enhance the exchange of academic and research expertise and open up broad horizons for students and faculty members to benefit from shared expertise. He noted that the university always strives to be an active player in serving the community and developing the governorate. <br> For his part, Dr. Salama Gomaa Daoud expressed his happiness at signing this protocol with Matrouh University, emphasizing that Al-Azhar University spares no effort in supporting border governorates and contributing to building the scientific and research capabilities of their citizens. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed the pioneering role played by the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in supporting innovation, enhancing scientific research, and serving society. He pointed out that what the city has achieved over 25 years of hard work and accomplishments reflects its commitment to its mission of being a beacon of science and creativity, and an active contributor to achieving sustainable development. <br> In this context, and under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, under the supervision of Dr. Mona Abdel Latif, Director of the City, organized the celebration ceremony of the Silver Jubilee on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its inauguration. <br> Dr. Hossam El-Din Othman, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Innovation and Scientific Research Affairs, emphasized the importance of the role played by the City in supporting innovation and serving society, stressing that scientific research is the driving force of sustainable development. <br> In her speech, Dr. Mona Abdel Latif affirmed that the celebration of 25 years represents an important milestone to launch towards a brighter future, confirming the continued commitment of the City to implement the strategies of the State and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to develop innovative solutions to national challenges in the fields of education, health, energy, water, environmental protection, information technology, agriculture, and food security. At the conclusion of the celebration, Dr. Mona Abdel Latif pointed out the City’s commitment to continue its journey towards achieving further accomplishments, noting that the City will remain a vital hub for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and will work on enhancing partnerships between academic and industrial circles to translate research ideas into value-added products and services. <br> It is worth mentioning that the City was established in 1993 by Presidential Decree No. 85 of 1993 under the name “Mubarak City for Scientific Research and Technological Applications Authority,” and its name was changed to its current one in 2011. The City currently includes 5 research institutes and 2 technology centers, occupying an area of 225 feddans in New Borg El Arab City, west of Alexandria. </p>

Dr. Amr El-Masry, Acting President of Matrouh University, received today, Tuesday, at the university's presidency headquarters, His Eminence Sheikh Attia Salem, Head of the Central Administration of Matrouh Al-Azhar Region, Professor Mahmoud Al-Halabi, Director General of Cultural Sciences in the region, and His Eminence Sheikh Saber Al-Sharqawi, Director of the Quran Affairs Department. <br> The visit was to congratulate Dr. Amr El-Masry on the issuance of the decision by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour, appointing him as Acting President of Matrouh University.
