Matrouh University Council held its 89th session on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mostafa Al-Naggar, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amr El-Masry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and other council members. At the start of the session, the University President congratulated the council members on the conclusion of the academic year. He also extended greetings to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Islamic and Arab nations, the Egyptian people, and all members of Matrouh University — including faculty, staff, and students — on the occasion of the new Hijri year. He prayed for a year full of blessings, prosperity, and progress, and for continued peace and stability in beloved Egypt. During the session, the council approved the allocation of one scholarship each at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Sciences, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in favor of graduates of STEM high schools, to support outstanding students and encourage their enrollment in specialized scientific disciplines at the university. The council also approved the new postgraduate regulations for the Faculty of Specific Education, which are aligned with the latest developments in the field and aimed at enhancing the academic and research performance of the faculty, in line with the university’s vision for excellence in graduate education. Additionally, the session approved the appointment of two teaching staff members as assistant lecturers, and one staff member as an assistant professor, as part of efforts to complete the academic structure and enhance educational quality in the faculties. Regarding student results, the council approved the awarding of bachelor’s degrees to students from the Spring 2025 class of the academic year 2024/2025. Furthermore, master’s degrees were awarded to three students, and doctoral degrees to two candidates from the university, after fulfilling all academic and administrative requirements. These decisions reflect Matrouh University’s commitment to strengthening its educational and research systems and its ongoing pursuit of high-quality academic programs that prepare qualified graduates ready to contribute effectively to the labor market and serve society.

The Information Technology Institute is pleased to announce the opening of registration for summer training programs for students of Egyptian universities. Priority in admission is given to third-year students moving into the fourth year, followed by those with the highest grades. <br><br> Students are allowed to register for only one training program to ensure equal opportunities for all. The selected program must match the student's specialization and the training dates announced. If a student wishes to withdraw, this must be done well before the start of the training to allow another student from the waiting list to take the spot. <br><br> Some programs have specific requirements for enrollment, as indicated in each course's announcement. To obtain a training completion certificate, full attendance and completion of all required tasks are mandatory. Dr. Mostafa Youssef Al-Naggar, President of Matrouh University, affirmed that the university places great emphasis on the practical and applied aspects of its academic programs. This comes within the framework of its vision to prepare professional cadres capable of meeting the needs of the labor market and contributing to community service, particularly in the area of care and support for people of determination. The university president explained that the field visit organized by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education to Al-Nusour Center for People of Determination (Zayed Medical), for first- and second-year students in the special program, represents an effective model of integration between theoretical education and practical application. It reflects the faculty’s commitment to refining students’ skills and enabling them to directly engage with real-life scenarios of working with special needs individuals. He noted that the visit gave students a valuable opportunity to learn about the center's services, including pediatric and dental clinics, physiotherapy units, speech therapy, psychotherapy, sensory stimulation, and behavior modification, in addition to Montessori and sensory integration rooms. He stressed that such field experiences help build a realistic understanding of the nature of various disabilities and how to address them. Dr. Al-Naggar praised the warm welcome extended by Brigadier Dr. Wael El-Saeedi, the center director, and the outstanding artistic performances presented by the children of the center, which showcased their exceptional talents and abilities. Concluding his remarks, the university president confirmed that Matrouh University continues to support effective partnerships with various institutions and specialized centers, believing in the importance of inclusion and empowerment of people of determination. He emphasized the role of real-life practical experiences in supporting the educational process and in preparing scientifically and ethically qualified graduates capable of making a positive impact on their community. President of Matrouh University: We are working to instill values of loyalty and belonging and to enhance national awareness among students. Commander of the Popular Defense Forces: Calls on youth to arm themselves with knowledge and embrace responsibility. Dr. Mostafa Youssef Al-Naggar, President of Matrouh University; Major General Staff Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh; and Major General Staff Dr. Osama Abdel Hamid Dawoud, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, attended the 87th educational seminar organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces in cooperation with Matrouh University. The seminar was attended by Dr. Islam Ragab, Deputy Governor; Major General Magdy El-Wasef, Secretary General; Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Amr El-Masry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; deans and vice-deans of faculties; military leaders; executive, security, and public officials of the governorate; faculty members; families of martyrs; and university students. This comes within the framework of the Armed Forces’ commitment to fostering a sense of loyalty and belonging among the youth of Egyptian universities and institutes. Dr. Al-Naggar began his speech by welcoming the attendees and saluting the Egyptian Armed Forces—the shield and sword of the nation—for their great efforts in protecting the state’s resources and achieving comprehensive development in various fields. He emphasized that the role of the university is not limited to academic education but also extends to shaping student character, instilling values of loyalty and belonging, and enhancing national awareness to face challenges. The university president praised the prominent role of the Popular and Military Defense Forces in raising awareness among university students and appreciated the ongoing cooperation between the university and the Armed Forces in organizing such events, which serve as one of the state’s tools to combat rumors and fourth-generation warfare. In his speech, Governor Khaled Shuaib expressed his pleasure at being present at Matrouh University and welcomed military, executive, and academic leaders. He praised the university’s efforts to instill national awareness among youth, foster a sense of belonging, and strengthen loyalty to the homeland. He also valued the role of the Popular and Military Defense Forces in organizing these educational seminars that aim to raise awareness and highlight the importance of synergy among state institutions to build generations capable of understanding and confronting challenges. In his address, Major General Staff Osama Abdel Hamid Dawoud affirmed that the Armed Forces spare no effort in supporting the state’s efforts to establish the principles of belonging and awareness among university youth. He noted that Egypt’s current stability and development in various fields is the result of the visionary political leadership and the dedication of state institutions, foremost among them the Armed Forces. He stressed that Egypt is engaged in a battle of awareness alongside its battle for development and construction, urging youth to arm themselves with knowledge, uphold responsibility, and positively engage in national service. He emphasized that university students are the hope and foundation of building the New Republic. Retired Major General Dr. Hafez Mahmoud Hassan, former Assistant Chief of Staff for Armed Forces Operations, delivered a lecture titled: “Confronting Misguided and Extremist Ideas and Fourth-Generation Warfare,” in which he addressed the intellectual and cultural challenges facing youth and the dangers of rumors spread via social media that impact national awareness. He emphasized the importance of being equipped with awareness and knowledge to understand the changes around us. He also highlighted the state’s efforts in implementing major national projects that form a real foundation for building the nation’s future, noting that Egypt has overcome many challenges thanks to the solidarity of its institutions and the awareness of its people.
