The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels in Matrouh was established as a branch of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Alexandria University in 2009. It later became one of the faculties of Matrouh University under Law No. 49 of 1972 and its executive regulations, and by Prime Ministerial Decree No. (1715) of 2018, which amended certain provisions of the executive regulations by adding Matrouh University to the universities listed in Article 2 of the University Organization Law.
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Matrouh University aims to excel in scientific research and educational programs related to tourism and heritage at the local, regional, and international levels, to graduate students capable of competing in local and regional job markets, and qualified for lifelong learning and professional development.
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Matrouh University works to provide distinguished educational, research, and training services to students in the fields of tourism and hospitality management, preparing them practically to compete in the local and regional labor market. The faculty also aims for leadership in education, scientific research, training, consultancy services, and effective contribution to scientific, moral, and cultural development, as well as environmental and community service, thereby contributing to the university's mission.
