The Minister of Higher Education has appointed Professor Amr El-Masry as Acting President of Matrouh University.

Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued a ministerial decree appointing Professor Dr. Amr Ahmed Abdel Moneim El-Masry as Acting President of Matrouh University, effective Friday, August 1, 2025, until a presidential decree appointing a new president is issued.
This decision comes within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's commitment to ensuring the continued efficient operation of universities and supporting institutional stability, thus contributing to the achievement of development goals in the higher education sector.
Matrouh University is currently witnessing a number of important steps toward completing its infrastructure and developing its academic and research system. This is in line with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which places special emphasis on supporting regional universities and enhancing their role in serving the community and developing the local environment. Matrouh University faculty and staff members welcomed the Minister's decision, wishing Professor Amr El-Masry success in his new role. They prayed that the university would witness further development and success during his tenure, serving students and the educational and research system.
