Matrouh University Council held its 89th session on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mostafa Al-Naggar, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amr El-Masry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and other council members. At the start of the session, the University President congratulated the council members on the conclusion of the academic year. He also extended greetings to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Islamic and Arab nations, the Egyptian people, and all members of Matrouh University — including faculty, staff, and students — on the occasion of the new Hijri year. He prayed for a year full of blessings, prosperity, and progress, and for continued peace and stability in beloved Egypt. During the session, the council approved the allocation of one scholarship each at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Sciences, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in favor of graduates of STEM high schools, to support outstanding students and encourage their enrollment in specialized scientific disciplines at the university. The council also approved the new postgraduate regulations for the Faculty of Specific Education, which are aligned with the latest developments in the field and aimed at enhancing the academic and research performance of the faculty, in line with the university’s vision for excellence in graduate education. Additionally, the session approved the appointment of two teaching staff members as assistant lecturers, and one staff member as an assistant professor, as part of efforts to complete the academic structure and enhance educational quality in the faculties. Regarding student results, the council approved the awarding of bachelor’s degrees to students from the Spring 2025 class of the academic year 2024/2025. Furthermore, master’s degrees were awarded to three students, and doctoral degrees to two candidates from the university, after fulfilling all academic and administrative requirements. These decisions reflect Matrouh University’s commitment to strengthening its educational and research systems and its ongoing pursuit of high-quality academic programs that prepare qualified graduates ready to contribute effectively to the labor market and serve society.
