The faculty was established as a branch of the Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University, in 2009, under a cooperation protocol between Alexandria University and Matrouh Governorate. The Matrouh branch of Alexandria University was established by Ministerial Decree No. 436 of 2013, which amended the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law to add the Matrouh branch. Consequently, the faculty became independent from Alexandria's Faculty of Nursing. The Faculty of Nursing at Matrouh University strives to provide its students with the latest developments in all fields of nursing sciences, and also focuses on providing appropriate practical training to graduate highly qualified nursing cadres. The college is committed to utilizing all acquired knowledge to serve the nation. In light of current international challenges, rote memorization has become outdated, and graduates must be imbued with national culture and open to the outside world. Therefore, our college management emphasizes student activities that foster cultural openness and personality development. In addition to academic and student activities, the college administration encourages field research that studies the most pressing health problems facing the community and seeks solutions. It is worth noting that the college is progressing steadily toward academic quality and accreditation according to national and international standards.
Our vision is to become one of the distinguished colleges of nursing, not only regionally but also globally, through an ambitious strategic plan to achieve a competitive and distinguished position among nursing colleges worldwide.
Our mission is to prepare graduates who meet labor market requirements through programs that ensure professional competence in nursing care according to national and international reference standards, conduct health research to advance community services, and establish local and global communication channels to achieve partnership with academic and health institutions.
