Center of Excellence for Foreign Languages and Translation

The unit seeks to achieve excellence and reach the highest level of performance quality in teaching and learning foreign languages and translation, and serving the community.

The unit seeks to provide specialized training programs to advance students and graduates, young and old, in the fields of teaching and learning foreign languages and translation and providing its services, to keep pace with scientific and technological developments that meet the requirements of the labor market and society in various fields.

1. Cooperate with the university in fulfilling its mission in all educational, training, and research fields closely related to foreign languages and translation, helping to solve problems and serve the community inside and outside the university.
2. Create an advanced scientific and cultural environment to provide students, graduates, assistants, faculty members, and local community members with practical experiences that prepare them for their future jobs and advance their community.
3. Provide technical and scientific consultations in the field of foreign languages and translation inside and outside the university.
4. Develop foreign language teaching and learning by training students and local community members from inside and outside the university (providing modern specialized training programs and courses in line with global educational developments and objectives) to improve their linguistic and communication skills necessary to meet the requirements of the twenty-first century and qualify them for the local and global labor market.
5. Propose the best modern educational and technological methods and means that serve the center's activities and events, leading to the development and modernization of performance and achieving the desired excellence.
6. Strengthen scientific and cultural ties and exchanges with other universities and relevant scientific bodies and institutions.
7. Organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and events related to the nature of the center's objectives and activities.
8. Contribute to the advancement of translation and provide related services such as providing translation services inside and outside the university (translation of certificates, contracts, research summaries, etc.), selecting a set of valuable books and references related to the development of scientific, cultural, and civilizational heritage and translating them from Arabic into other foreign languages and vice versa, and participating in the arbitration of translated works according to clear and specific standards.
